Situated at Krishnankovil-626 190, Srivilliputhur, Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu, the college began functioning keeping in mind the mission of empowering the women of countryside. Imparting quality education is also given due emphasis. It is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. The college has widely gained reputation for its high standards, excellent track records of students, accompanied with infrastructural facilities. V.P. Muthaiah Pillai Meenakshi Ammal Arts and Science College for Women offers undergraduate courses like B.Com, B.C.S, B.Sc.-Computer Science, Bachelor in Computer Application , B.Sc.-Biochemistry, B.Sc.-Physics, B.Sc.-Microbiology. B.A. in Tamil is also offered.

Post Graduate Courses that are offered include- M.F.C. (Master of Finance & Control) M.Com, PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application) M.Sc. in Biochemistry, M.Sc. in Computer Science and Information Technology. V.P. It has a collection of five thousand books, hardback volumes of journals and reference resources for various subjects. They not only facilitate academics but also help in conducting research works.

Laboratories of V.P. Muthaiah Pillai Meenakshi Ammal Arts and Science College for Women house modern and updated equipments. The Computer Science laboratory has NT server and Netware server. Internet facilities also are provided to the students. The Physics laboratory is equipped for conducting practical classes in digital electronic mode. Audio Oscillators, CRO, Frequency Metres, Function Generators and Multimetres deserve mention.

The Biochemistry laboratory of V.P. Muthaiah Pillai Meenakshi Ammal Arts and Science College for Women was formed in 1994 for undergraduate students. It has a wide range of equipments like Incubators, Electric Ovens, Autoclaves, Calorimeter, pH metres, Centrifuges etc., so that special studies related to haematology, microbiology, clinical and cytology can be carried on.

A Biochemistry Laboratory for postgraduate students was set up in 1998 with all the modern equipments like High Speed Refrigerator, Sepectronic 20, Centrifuge, Deep Freezer, Flame Photometre, Calorimetre, Electrophoretic Unit, TLC Kit, Magnetic Stirrer, pH metre etc.

The Microbiology Laboratory for B.Sc students is well stocked with equipments like Hot Air Over, Bacteriological Incubators, High-speed refrigerator centrifuge, Auto Clave, Quick Freezer (-20 C), Laminar airflow, Projection Microscope etc. Students are always encouraged to be involved in interdisciplinary studies and research.
