2015-2016 Ranji Trophy2015- 2016 Ranji Trophy was contested by 27 regional cricket teams. This trophy is the premier first-class cricket tournament of regional basis in India.

2015- 2016 Ranji Trophy was contested by 27 teams divided into three groups of nine teams each. The top three teams from Groups A and B advanced to the quarterfinals along with the top two teams from Group C.

Schedule of 2015- 2016 Ranji Trophy
For 2015- 2016 Ranji Trophy, the schedule splits into two stages; the first is a league stage and the second being a knock-out stage.

League of 2015- 2016 Ranji Trophy
The league stage starts on 1st October 2015 and ends on 4th December 2015 and the knock-out stage starts on 3rd February 2016 and ends on 28th February 2016. 2015-16 Ranji Trophy will be followed by the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. The final was contested by Saurashtra Cricket team and Mumbai Cricket team, a repeat of the 2012-13 final. Mumbai Cricket Team won the match by an innings and 21 runs to claim their 41st title.

Some of the coaches in Ranji Trophy this year are: Chandrakant Pandit, Hrishikesh Hemant Kanitkar, Dheeraj Jadhav, Sairaj Vasant Bahutule, Ranadep Boos, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Rizwan Shamshad and Ajay Jadeja.

Chandrakant Sitaram Pandit
Chandrakant Sitaram Pandit is a former Indian cricketer now the coach of Mumbai cricket team.

Hrishikesh Kanitkar
Hrishikesh Hemant Kanitkar is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He was appointed as the assistant coach of Kochi Tuskers Kerala. During Ranji Season, he successfully guides Goa Cricket team.

Dheeraj Jadhav
Dheeraj Jadhav has represented Mumbai Champs in the Indian Cricket League and Maharashtra in domestic cricket. He is now the assistant coach of Goa Cricket Team.

Sairaj Bahutule
Sairaj Bahutule is an all-rounder who specializes in leg spin bowling, now became the coach of Bengal Cricket Team.

Lakshmipathy Balaji
Lakshmipathy Balaji is an Indian cricketer and a right arm fast medium bowler. He is the bowling coach of Tamil Nadu Cricket Team.

Rizwan Shamshad
Rizwan Shamshad is a right-handed batsman. Rizwan played for Uttar Pradesh. He made his first class debut in 1990-1991 and has made 100 appearances in Indian domestic cricket with over 7000 runs, with 19 centuries and 37 half centuries averaging more than 45 runs in his career innings. He is now the coach of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association.

Ajay Jadeja
Ajay Jadeja was born on 1st February 1971 in Jamnagar, Gujarat. He was the coach for Delhi cricket team but he resigned from the post. He is now in the cricket commentator.
