Maravanthe Beach is one of the beautiful beaches in Karnataka. The uniqueness of the beach is that the highway stretch of a kilometre is flanked by the Maravanthe Beach on one side and the River Sauparnika on the other side. This beach is often referred to as a Virgin Beach. Maravanthe Beach is a beautiful beach town studded with several places of excursion; the town is adorned with a stark backdrop of Kodachadri Hills, while Arabian Sea bounds it from one side and Sauparnika River on the other side.
Location of Maravanthe Beach
Maravanthe Beach is located on National Highway 17 between Kundapur and Byndoor and nearly 50 kilometres from Udupi in Karnataka. It is situated 12 km from Kundapur, which is 50 km north of Udupi and 110 km north of Mangalore.

Maravanthe Beach is also an ideal place to view the Sunset. In and around, Maravanthe Beach is filled by various attractive points that are worth visiting like St. Mary"s Island, Byndoor and Ottanane. Byndoor is 45 km from Maravanthe and it has its own beach. Near Byndoor people will also find the charming Belekal Theertha Falls. Maraswamy Temple is another highlight of the Maravanthe Beach. This temple comprises of three garbhagriha where three deities are worshiped. One of the deities is Varaha or wild boar that is why it is also called as Varaha Swamy Temple. The Kodachadri Hills offer trekking trails and these trails are fairly difficult and suited for professionals and experienced trekkers.

Maravanthe Beach is well connected via airway railway and roadway. The nearest airport from this beach is the Mangalore Airport and the nearest railhead is the Mangalore Central Railway Station. From both the stoppage, one can avail taxi or bus services to reach the beach. The ideal time to explore the beauty of this beach is between September and March when the swimming opportunity at the beach is at its best.
