Brindavan Gardens, Mysore, KarnatakaThe Brindavan Garden is located at the Mysore and is among the most famous tourist attraction of the city. It is located fifteen kilometers away from the city center. The garden is situated across the river Cauvery below the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam in Mandya District of Karnataka. The Brindavan Garden spans over a vast area of hundred and fifty acres of land. From the heart of Mysore it is a thirty minutes drive to reach this garden.

The Brindavan Gardens lie on the other side of the dam. The garden was constructed during the period of Krishnaraja Wodeyar`s. The Garden is filled with an ecstatic beauty when in the evening the sun sets behind the mountains on the western side and the golden rays of setting sun reflects spectacularly at the water of the lake.

The Brindavan garden is beautifully decorated with huge lawns, rows of flowers arranged in diverse kaleidoscopic manner and the fountains encircling a small beautiful lake. The central fountain holds the charm of the musical fountain. In the year 2004 the entire garden was adorned with new lights and fountains. Brindavan Gardens are basically a terrace garden that incorporates decorated steps where water flows inside the steps.

Brindavan Gardens, Mysore, Karnataka During the past decades the Brindavan garden was the prime location for the shooting of any dance or song sequence in Indian films. Presently any kind of shooting is strictly banned but one can enjoy its panoramic view in a day.

The main charm of Brindavan Garden is the `Dancing fountain`, where fountains dance on the tunes of music and the color pattern is changed according to the music. The musical fountains show magnificent harmony of water, colors and music. The musical fountains bring the heavenly feeling of earth to the spectators.

On the travel tour to Karnataka one must definitely visit the Brindavan Garden, which is the most beautiful garden of India. The tourists can enjoy the beauty of the illuminated garden at night. Every evening at 7.00 pm the lights in the gardens are turned on and the garden is transformed to a fairy tale sequence.

Brindavan garden is opened from morning 7 am to evening 8 pm. On weekdays the garden lighting is done from 7.00 pm to 8.45 pm every day. During Dussera festival the garden is specially illuminated every day.

To reach the actual site of the Brindavan garden the visitors need to walk about 1.5 kilometers from the main gateway of the park. From the city auto rikshaws and private taxis are most convenient mode of transport.
