Universities of Haryana are several educational institutes of repute, which are credited for producing some remarkable scholars, who have contributed to Indian academics. Some of these universities are Kurukshetra University, Maharishi Dayanand University and YMCA University of Science and Technology.

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University
Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University at Hisar is one of the biggest agricultural universities in Asia. Its name has been derived from the name of India`s seventh Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh. It was set up on 2nd of February, 1970. It has the distinction of publishing the largest number of research papers among agricultural universities in India.

Kurukshetra University
Kurukshetra University is a multi disciplinary university, situated in Kurukshetra. It was set up on 11th of January, 1957. Maharishi Dayanand University
Maharishi Dayanand University is located in the suburbs of Rohtak. It was set up in the year 1976. It offers courses in various disciplines at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The university has several prominent engineering, pharmacy and management institutes affiliated to it. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited this university with an `A` grade. University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) in Rohtak is associated with Maharishi Dayanand University.

YMCA University of Science and Technology
YMCA University of Science and Technology is a state university, situated in Faridabad. It was established in 1969, by the government of Haryana. The university focuses upon management studies and imparting technical education.

Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology
Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology is situated in Murthal, Sonipat. It was set up in the year 1987. It is the first government engineering college in Haryana. The university campus occupies a land of about 273 acres.

Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology
Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology is situated in Hisar. It was founded in 1995. It provides courses in the areas of science, technology, engineering, pharmacy and management.

Other Universities of Haryana
Several other institutes impart education in Haryana. They are NIT Kurukshetra, University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Technological Institute of Textile and Sciences, Bhiwani, Manav Rachna International University at Faridabad, Chaudhary Devi Lal University at Sirsa and Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana. National Dairy Research Institute at Karnal is a deemed university, which trains students in the field of dairy technology. Its world-class infrastructure and state- of - the-art technological facilities, makes it a premier institution in the field of dairy research in Asia.
