Deepak Chopra , Indian WriterDeepak Chopra is a famous Indian doctor and writer.He was born on October 22,1946 in New Delhi.He took early education at St. Columba`s School in New Delhi.He did his graduation in Medical Sciences from prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1969.His father, Krishna Chopra, was also a doctor .Deepak Chopra went to U.S for his internship at New Jersey hospital after he took residency training at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts and at the University of Virginia Hospital. He became board-certified endocrinologist.

He started his career, as a teacher of medicine. He was the professor of Tufts University and Boston University Schools of Medicine. Deepak Chopra was also appointed as the chief of New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham, Massachusetts, and Boston Regional Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.Apart from teaching he also practised privately.

He returned to India and deeply influenced by Ayurvedic doctor Vaidya Brihaspati Dev Triguna and became pioneer of Transcendental Meditation movement. After that he started mind-body treatment and became the director of Sharp Institute for Human Potential and Mind-Body Medicine in San Diego.

In 1996 Deepak Chopra established The Chopra Center in La Jolla with the help of his friend Dr. David Simon.In 2002 the head quarter of the centre was transffered to La Costa.In this year he also opened a new branch in New York.

From 1987 he started writing books on his favourite subject Body -Mind treatment.Through his books he strongly advocated that there is a crucial intermingling between mind and body, and said meditation and self-awareness is the primary remedies of illness.
