Pain in AbdomenOrgans of the abdomen include the stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Abdominal pain is described to be a pain which originates from organs which are within the abdominal cavity. Thus, pain in abdomen is ache, which is felt in the abdominal area of the body. It is a common stomach ailment problem. Children, aged people and youngsters all suffer from this trouble. The abdomen is an anatomical area that is bounded by the lower margin of the ribs and with diaphragm above and the pelvic bone (pubic ramus) below, and the flank on each side. Abdominal pain arises from the tissues of the abdominal wall that surround the abdominal cavity. Pain of the Abdominal Wall may suddenly appear in the abdominal wall. Abdominal pain can also be associated with transient disorders or serious disease. However, abdominal pain is a common problem. This problem frequently is self-limited, but more serious cases require urgent attention.

Pain in abdomen may be caused for various reasons. Usually pain in stomach occurs due to constipation and indigestion, as the faecal matter gets dry in large intestine due to improper evacuation. In addition to that worms or accumulation of wind in the intestines also causes pain in stomach. Abdominal pain becomes usual due to continuous eating of heavy and spicy food. However certain diseases such as ulcer, colitis and appendicitis, gynecological or obstetric as well as metabolic disturbances also cause pain in the stomach. Symptoms of the pain in abdomen include various signs. It may start as a twisting pain in stomach, continuous pain with relative intervals or unwillingness for taking meal accompanied with occasional vomiting sensation.

Pain in Abdomen can be treated through several methods. The initial stages of abdominal pain can be treated by home remedies. Other ways include treatment by nature cure. Yogic Asanas also prove to be beneficial to control abdominal pain. Pada-Hastasana, Tadasana and Katichakrasana are certain asanas which can be practised to treat the pain in the stomach. Ayurveda and Aromatherapy are other alternative medicines which can be employed to heal a pain in the abdomen.
