Saumya Tandon, born on 3 November 1984 is an Indian television actress. She did her schooling from St. Mary`s convent in Ujjain. Her father, Dr. B. G. Tandon, was a Professor and Head of the Department of English at Vikram University in Ujjain. He has a strong hold in Shakespearean literature and has written 17 books on different branches of English literature. She made her television debut in the popular soap `Aisa Des Hain Mera` which used to be broadcasted on Sony TV Channel. This MBA graduate from Delhi made her entry into the glamour world by modelling for ramp shows and ad campaigns. She has also done ad films and was also the first runner-up at a Femina Cover Girl contest.

Career of Saumya Tandon
Saumya took up modelling assignments in her early career. The major turning point of her career came with the role of Rusty in the soap, `Aisa Des Hain Mera.` She also acted in another serial `Meri Awaaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni.` In the serial she portrayed a negative character. She enacted the role of a daughter of a business tycoon. She has also anchored a popular reality show on Zee TV, Dance India Dance.

She has also been the ground host of the show `Zor Ka Jhatka.` It is the Indian version of one of the biggest international game shows, `Wipeout` which has been hugely successful in US and UK. The show is anchored by Shahrukh Khan from the confines of a closed studio while Saumya anchors from the fort on-location. The show is being shot in Buenos Aires with a group of Indian television and sports personalities. Saunya has also anchored the `comedy circus` show.

Apart from serials Saumya has also acted in a Bollywood blockbuster movie `Jab We Met.` In the Imtiaz Ali directed movie she was seen playing the role of Kareena Kapoor`s sister.
