Kausiki, A Character in Malavikagnimitra of KalidasaKausiki is a minor character in a Sanskrit play, Agnimitra and Malavika. The play is also known as Malavikagnimitram by Kalidasa.

Kausiki is portrayed as the sister Sumati. Sumati is the minister On one occasion when her brother Sumati had to take the princess Malavika to some place then she helped him in their journey. Kausiki accompanied her brother. On their way through the Vindhya Mountains they were attacked by foresters. In this disturbance Sumati was slain by the foresters and Malavika was lost. Kausiki was left alone and she committed the last rites of her brother`s body. She performed the funeral and resumed her journey.

Kausiki soon found out Malavika. As per the prophecy of a sage Malavika was seen by Agnimitra, the Shunga king of Vidisha. Agnimitra fell in love by seeing her beauty and married her.
