Pallavi Kulkarni is an Indian television actress and model, who has acted in multiple television series since the mid 2000s. She became a popular face on Indian television with her role of the headstrong Karishma in STAR Plus" weekly soap opera "Kehta Hai Dil" that aired from 2002 to 2005. She was subsequently seen in `Vaidehi - Ek Aur Agni Pareeksha`, during 2006-2007 where she played the titular character Vaidehi, under the production house of actress Aruna Irani, of whom she is regarded as a brainchild. After a 7-year break, she made a comeback to Indian television in 2014 in Sony TV`s drama series "Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar", as Ragini Patel Khanna alongside Ronit Roy. The actress has also appeared in a few Bollywood movies.
Early Life of Pallavi Kulkarni
Pallavi Kulkarni was born on June 15, 1982. Soon after graduating in hotel management, she took to modelling and was showered with several ad offers. Her popular ad campaigns include the famous "paanch" campaign for the multinational brand Coca Cola, along with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. She also did an ad film for Colin brand.
Acting Career of Pallavi Kulkarni
Pallavi Kulkarni made her debut on television in the year 1999 with Zee TV"s soap opera "Hudd Kar Di", in the role of Riya Dhanwa. The series aired till 2000, post which she was seen as Neha in Zee TV"s "Aaj Bhi Ateet". In 2002, she donned the role of female lead Neonika "Nikki" Raj Karmarkar in the original story of Sony TV"s thriller series `Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat`, which showcased many small stories in a mini format. Pallavi"s breakthrough came with STAR Plus" soap opera `Kehta Hai Dil`, where she portrayed the headstrong female protagonist Karishma Singh. The show, which aired from 2002 to 2005 completing a total of 144 weekly episodes, catapulted the actress to fame and acclaim. The viewers still recognise her as the face of "Kehta Hai Dil".
Another turning point of Pallavi"s career came with the role of Vaidehi, the titular character in Sony TV"s `Vaidehi - Ek Aur Agni Pareeksha", which depicted the story of a young girl coming from a middle class background whose life comes to a standstill after her marriage. It is then she has to go through the ultimate test called "Agnipariksha". Pallavi received immense applause for her role in the series, which was particularly popular in Ivory Coast and Senegal, West Africa. The show, which was produced by popular Bollywood actress Aruna Irani, premiered in June 2006 and ran till December 2006. In 2010, Pallavi visited Senegal and lived in New York in 2011.
The actress made a comeback to Indian television after a 7-year break in 2014, in Sony TV`s drama series "Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar", as the female lead Ragini Patel Khanna opposite Ronit Roy. The daily soap opera, created and produced by Ekta Kapoor, premiered on November 18, 2014 and ran till November 17, 2015, totalling 208 episodes. The show dealt with the relationship challenges of a divorced couple, Dr. Nachiket “Neil†Khanna, a cardiac surgeon played by Ronit Roy and his independent wife Ragini Patel, portrayed by Pallavi, who become reconnected because of their children. Pallavi Kulkarni also appeared in the 1999 Sunny Deol-starrer "Arjun Pandit", as Shilpa and in the 2002 film "Kranti", as Anu, the sister of Bobby Deol"s character.
