Founded by the prestigious Rizvi Education Society, the Rizvi College of Architecture is situated in the Rizvi Educational complex at Bandra west in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra. The institute was established in 1992 and is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The Rizvi College of Architecture was established by Abis Hasan Rizvi, an Indian businessman, who was the Chief Executive Officer of real estate company Rizvi Builders. The main objective of constructing the Rizvi College of Architecture was to centre on the human, socio- cultural, ecological, scientific and technological, aesthetic and theoretical values.
