Universities in Gujarat are best known for their quality education and faculties. These centers of learning are located in different parts of Gujarat. Some of these universities are Gujarat University, Ahmedabad University, Bhavnagar University and Saurashtra University.

Gujarat University
Gujarat University is located at Ahmedabad. It was set up in the year 1949. It acts as an affiliating university at the undergraduate level and a teaching university at the postgraduate level. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited this university with a "B++ Grade".

Indian Institute of Technology
Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar was set up in the year 2008. Government of India has declared it "Institute of National Importance". The institute conducts Bachelor of Technology programs in chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and materials science and engineering.

Ahmedabad University
Ahmedabad University is situated in Ahmedabad. It was set up in the year 2009. It is a private and non-profit university. The university has four schools and two centers associated with it. The schools are Amrut Mody School of Management, School of Computer Studies, School of Engineering and Applied Science and School of Arts and Sciences. The centers are Centre for Heritage Management and Venture Studio. The university conducts undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes for students.

Bhavnagar University
Bhavnagar University is situated in Bhavnagar. It was set up in the year 1978. The university has 83 affiliated colleges. Some of the affiliated colleges conduct postgraduate courses. The university has several departments like the department of anthropology, department of astronomy, department of business administration and department of commerce.

Saurashtra University
Saurashtra University is situated in Rajkot. It was set up in the year 1967. About 272 colleges are affiliated to Saurashtra University. Sardar Patel University
Sardar Patel University is situated in Vallabh Vidyanagar. It was set up in the year 1955. The university has various departments like the department of bio-sciences, department of business studies, department of business management and department of chemistry. The affiliated colleges conduct courses in the fields like architecture, commerce, home science and social work.

Gujarat Technological University
Gujarat Technological University is situated in Ahmedabad. It was set up in the year 2007. Several engineering, pharmacy, and management colleges are affiliated to Gujarat Technological University. The university offers courses like Diploma Engineering, Diploma Pharmacy, Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Architecture.

Gujarat National Law University
Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is situated in Gandhinagar. It was set up in the year 2004. It is one of the most prestigious law universities in India. The university conducts integrated law degree courses in five streams.
