He completed his education from Patna Science College and later attended the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Subsequently he moved to Mumbai to pursue his career in films. Shatrughan Sinha is also known as Shotgun and his production house is known as Shotgun Films. He is married to Poonam and the couple have twin sons, Luv Sinha and Kussh Sinha. The model-actress, Sonakshi Sinha, is their daughter.

Career of Shatrughan Sinha
Shatrughan Sinha was one of the best male Bollywood film stars during the 1970s and 1980s. He debuted with the movie Sajan in 1969.He started with the film career by playing villainous roles and was successful in portraying perfect villainous roles in movies like Ek Nanhi Munni Ladki Thi (1970), Holi Ayee Re (1970), Khilona (1970), Raaton Ka Raja (1970), Nayeem Builder (1970) and more. His commendable performance as a villain has been in the movie Raampur Ka Lakshman starring Randhir Kapoor and Rekha. Sinha switched over to play the protagonist with Subhash Ghai`s Kalicharan and became even more successful in solo starrer. He acted in many other hit movies like Dostana, Shann, Betaaj Badshah, Hawalaat and others. He has also starred in contemporary movies like Aan: Men at Work, Rakta Charitra. Political Life of Shatrughan Sinha
Shatrughan Sinha chose to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, which was an opposition party with just two Members of Parliament. Shatrughan Sinha created history by being the leading member of the film industry to become a cabinet minister in the Government of India. He has held two portfolios, namely the department of Shipping and the department of Health and Family Welfare. As of May 2006, Shatrughan Sinha was appointed as the chief of the BJP Culture and Arts Department.

Awards and Honours of Shatrughan Sinha
Sinha has won the Film Journalists` Association Awards as Best Supporting Actor for `Tanhai` in 1973. Shatrughan Sinha was also conferred with the "Pride of the Film Industry" award at the Stardust Awards 2003 and Stardust Award for Lifetime Achievement in the same year. In 2007 he was awarded the National Kishore Kumar Samman and in 2011 he got the Zee Cine Award for Lifetime Achievement. He was chosen by Rediff as one of the most exceptional actors in Hindi Cinema among Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Irfan Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Rajnikanth, and Sunil Shetty.
