Medical Colleges in RajasthanThe state of Rajasthan has a large number of medical colleges. All the medical colleges in Rajasthan are working with some common objectives like spreading the light of medical education in the state and providing the researchers with enough facilities. Conducting research programmes in new fields of medical science and providing treatment to the people of the state are also some other objectives of the medical colleges in Rajasthan. The most important medical colleges are situated in the districts like Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner etc.

The medical colleges in Rajasthan have attracted students from various parts of the country, as they have a high standard of education. The oldest medical college in Rajasthan is the SMS Medical College, established in 1947 and after that; a large number of medical colleges were established in the state, between the 1960s and 1980s. The medical colleges in Rajasthan offer various courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, apart from offering the PG Diploma, PhD and super speciality courses. The medical colleges in Rajasthan admit students in accord to merit list and also in regard to their obtained marks.

Most of the medical colleges in Rajasthan are affiliated to the University of Rajasthan and they are also recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Some of the prominent medical colleges in Rajasthan are SMS Medical College, RNT Medical College, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sardar Patel Medical College, National Institute of Ayurveda etc. Most of these medical colleges have some associating hospitals attached to them, so that they can provide practical education and internship programmes for their students. The medical colleges in Rajasthan have been playing an important role in the overall educational scenario of the state.
