Manasi Pandya was born on 30th April in the year 1985 at Baroda-Gujrat. Today Manasi Pandya is considered to be one of the youngest performers of the traditional art form Odissi and Bharatnatyam. Under illustrious guru Shri Sharad Pandya and Smt. Niru Pandya, Manasi has undergone rigorous training of 15 years in Bharatnatyam at "Purva school of Bharatanatyam". It was an institution run by them. Shri Sharad Pandya and Smt. Niru Pandya is the proud parent of Manasi Pandya. After that Mansi has also bagged the privilege of acquiring the training in Bharatnatyam under the far famed dance teacher Guru Smt. Jaya Chandrashekar at Chennai. Afterward she has also received training in the rich heritage dance form, Odissi from Guru Shri Gangadhar Pradhan, Orissa.
Mansi Pandya holds a Diploma degree in Bharatanatyam from the Faculty of Performing Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University at Baroda. Other qualifications she has obtained are: `Kovida` [Diploma] in Odissi dance from Nalanda Dance Research Centre - Mumbai; `Nritya Visharad` [B.A in Bharatanatyam] with gold medal & distinction & an `Alankar` [M.A in Bharatanatyam]; `Kovida` [Diploma] in Odissi dance from Nalanda Dance Research Centre - Mumbai; `Visharad` in Odissi dance - Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mandal, Bhubaneswar; Diploma in French - M.S. University, Baroda; Graduate in English [Honors] - M.S. University, Baroda.
This youngest dancer, Mansi Pandya has also exhibited her performances at many highly esteemed festivals and occassions. She has performed at the Indian cities namely, Gujarat State: Baroda, Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Nadiyad, Kasor, Anand; Madhya Pradesh State: Sagor, Bhopal, Jabalpur; Orissa State: Kakatpur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Ummarkott, Nimapara, Nabarangpur, Konark, Bhubaneswar; Panjab State: Bathinda; West Bengal State: Kolkata; Uttar Pradesh State: Unnao, Kanpur, Delhi; Maharashtra: Mumbai; Performances for several institutes in Mauritius; The Municipal corporation - Curepipe; The Hindu girl`s college -Vacoas; The Tamil League- Port Louis; Various performances in Orissa for the Orissa Tourism Development Corporation [OTDC].
Manasi Pandya has participated at the festivals: Nalanda Nrityotsav - Mumbai in the year 2006; `World Performing & Visual Arts Festival` - Lahore, Pakistan in the year 2005; Western Railways International Womens day celebrations - Baroda, in the year 2006; World dance day - Baroda, on April 29th in the year 2006; Cultural exchange programme - Baroda, in the month of June 2006; Indian Institute of Technology conference, IIT -
Kanpur, in the year 2005; Vibrant Gujarat, International Garba Festival - Baroda in the year 2004; International AIESEC Seminar - NLDS, New Delhi in the year 2004; The Mondei- Nabarangur in the years 2003 & 2004; Lok Mahotsav- Sambalpur in the year 2004; and many more.
Manasi Pandya has also given performances for E.T.V. Gujarati in `Sakhi`, E.T.V.Oriya in `Aaji Ra Naari`. She has also recorded her performances for Doordarshan, O.T.V.,V.N.M T.V., Mauritius College of Air, P.TV., Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. In the recent time the Discovery Channel under the programme of the `Fantastic festivals of the world` has also recorded her performances.
Manasi Pandya as a recognition has received many felicitations and accolades. The Centre of cultural resources & training - New Delhi has conferred the National scholarship in Bharatanatyam to Manasi. At the state level dance competitions she has won the competitions that was organized by the Friends society. The Swara Sadhana Samitee - Mumbai has conducted the all India dance competetion, where she won the competition for two times. On the occassion of International Women`s Day, the Government of Gujarat has felicitated Manasi in the year 2005. The Vishwa Gayatri Mandir, Kasor has also felicitated her. There she has been blessed by Guru Shri Akhilesh Maharaj ji. The Western Railways employees union felicitated Manasi Pandya on the occasion of International women`s day celebrations. This felicitation ceremony was held at Baroda in the year 2006. The Leo club of Anand has honored her as a young talent in Performing arts.
Manasi Pandya has also conducted several workshops and lecture demonstration to her credit. In a workshop held in the year 2003 at Rajkot, she has assisted her Guru Shri Gangadhar Pradhan. She has also accompanied her Guru Shri Sharad Pandya in a workshop that was held at the Delhi Public School - Kanpur & Baroda in the year 2004. In the year 2005, she has given lecture demonstration at Kala Nidhi - Kanpur. At an International seminar of AIESEC held in New Delhi, she has demonstrated this traditional art form in the year 2005. in the year 2002, Manasi has also demonstrated dance at the Tejas School in Baroda. Other lecture demonstrations conducted by her are: at the Convent of Jesus & Mary in Baroda in the year 2001; Lecture & demonstration on the World dance day in Baroda on April 29th 2006; demonstrated in a cultural exchange programme in Baroda, June 2006; Lecture & demonstration for ODA - Bhubaneswar, in the year 2004; Demonstration at Ramakrishna Mission - Kolkata, 2005. She has also participated at various demonstrations for Folk dances of Gujarat with Guru and father Sharad Pandya.
Manasi Pandya at present serves as a member of "Purva performing group" as well as "Konark performing group". She is also serving as the member of World MIFA - Italy & AIESEC France. This young budding dancer is also doing her Masters in English literature from Faculty of Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She also teaches the nuances of dance as a teacher at `Purva` School of Bharatanatyam, Baroda, Gujarat.
